My story

Hi, I’m Kelly

I completed my master’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Ghent University, Belgium. For the past ten years, Jeffreys Bay has been my home.

Early in my training I learned that medicine is the art of keeping the body in a state where it can function at its maximum capacity. That idea still guides my work: supporting the remarkable mechanisms the body already has, and helping to prevent many of the complaints that develop when those mechanisms are overloaded.

Every treatment starts with a conversation about your needs, expectations and goals, followed by an assessment of posture, movement and tissue. I look at what is causing the problem, not only where it hurts.

From there I choose the techniques that fit: neuromuscular re-education, fascia work and mobilisations, somatic relaxation techniques or manual lymphatic drainage. No trained routine. No body is the same, so no treatment is the same.

A decade here means J-Bay isn’t just where I work, it’s where I live. I love the town, its pace and its people.
